Old tortoise killed on Saudi coast

 

A tortoise believed to be nearly 120 years old was found dead on a Saudi beach after it was apparently hit on the back, a local daily reported on Tuesday.

Beach strollers in the eastern port of Dammam found the dead tortoise, weighing nearly 350 kg, with a broken back and bleeding, Alyoum said.

“The tortoise has clearly been hit on the back and this caused a fracture in her back and bleeding…an eye witness said it was hit by a fisherman.”
